Wonderfully paced emotion and romance makes this one of the best books I've read in a long time. Pamela Wells isn't some empty headed do gooder ; she's a woman living for the animals she cares for at her makeshift shelter. She thinks she's got everything figured out and in its place but something is missing.
Irritation and romance come in the form of a hot tempered bartender assigned to community service. But Daniel is more than he seems. I did have the initial feeling that this was going to be a clichéd relationship, but I had to change my mind after the first two chapters. Truly an engaging, emotional journey for these two.
One of the most memorable character's is not human : Rodney the raccoon was simply adorable and completely believable. His personality was better than. Pamela ex-husband, Bob. :)

I enjoyed every facet of this book- its setting, characters, and theme. The story moves quickly as the author develops the characters fully. The setting, a rehabbing facility for wild animals, is an unlikely place for love to bloom, but indeed it does after many surprising twists and turns. I'd suggest this book to anyone who enjoys a modern day romance novel.
A wonderful read about finding love, acceptance and forgiveness. I liked that this story was well written, the characters had good development and the book was not overwhelming but moved along a nice pace and allowed you to fall in love with the characters. Although the ending was great it had me worried there for a minute! A definet must read for your library!
I had been in the market for a nice romance novel in between heavier reading, something lighthearted with some steaminess. ;) The two main characters had a great chemistry once they got a couple chapters in. Reality was stretched a bit as I came closer to the end when Pamela was re-engaged to her ex-husband and Daniel came back. If you're willing to just accept, than the story continues along just fine. I found myself (at 1am) flying through the pages teary eyed because I HAD to know how the book ended. Not wanting to give anything away I just kept telling myself "oh my god, it has to end _______ way!" It did not disappoint.
Mixed with relationship, relatives and friends , and most importantly how much love the wild life animals , romantic relationship between reality amazing life of Pamela and Daniel Highly Recommended , brilliant author with sensitive mind ,and touching!!!Thanks
This book has everything you can ask for in a great novel that deserves to be a bestseller romance, love, humour, a courageous woman, a complex man, relationship drama, conflict, adorable animals, emotional turmoil, warmth, heartbreak ... and an ending that will stay with you for quite a while. The author, Alexandra Weis, is a brilliant story teller and her ability to create credible characters through great dialogues makes this book a page turner from the beginning to the end. This book is well written. Whether you are a man or a woman, don't be surprised if you fall in love with Pamela. I highly recommend this book to everybody who enjoys reading high quality fiction.
Where to begin with this story... This would make one heck of a good movie! There was such drawn out emotion in each of the characters! There was a bit of the 'Dr Doolittle' with the animals that just made me laugh out loud! Carol was a hoot, absolutely loved her character...she was a feisty, outspoken and very direct type of individual, but she made you laugh! Pamela has the past/present with Bob and Daniel and Carol is her Accountant (main characters). The book was about past, present and future...overcoming hurts and fears, dealing with a medical condition, doing what one woman loved to do and two people learning to overcome and conquer things together and putting the past behind them. The characters were so well developed that I was rooting at some of them, laughing at Carol, feeling my fists clench when it came to Bob, you just really took on the emotions of the characters! I couldn't recommend this book high enough, I didn't want it to end and I will definitely be searching for more to read from this author!!

Broken Wings is a story about a woman named Pamela Wells who is struggling to keep her wildlife rescue center going. She loves the animals she cares for so much that she doesnt mind having to ask her mean, manipulating ex husband for help.
Soon she meets Daniel Phillips, a man sent to help her as part of his parole requirement. At first their personalities clash, but as they begin to spend more and more time together, they realize that they have fallen for eachother....
I dont like to ruin my reviews with too much details of the story, but all I can say is that Alexandrea Weis did an awesome job with this book. The characters are very well developed and likeable...You will find yourself rooting for Pamela and Daniel's romance, the wildlife sanctuary and hating her ex husband...

*The love scenes maybe a bit too intense for Young Adult readers and there is some profanity used in the book so I would recommend this book for adult readers.
